North Face Gully of Veleta
El Veleta, one of the most recognizable symbols of the Sierra Nevada. Its gentle slopes facing Granada have made this mountain range one of the country's premier ski resorts. In contrast, its northern slope drops vertically for hundreds of meters. Although the ascent via most of its routes is challenging, there is a simple route that allows you to reach its summit with relative ease.

The ascent of this route can be completed in a single day. Despite its exposed nature, it is a highly recommended option —together with the North Ridge of Cartujo and the North Couloir of Los Machos— to begin climbing the main north faces of Sierra Nevada.
