Meeting at the Aiguille du Midi cable car ticket office early in the morning with your guide. Distribution of the safety equipment and we go up in the first cabin to the intermediate station of the cable car, specifically to Plan de l’Aiguille where the short but intense approach walk to the base of the couloir des Papillons begins, where we will rope up to start the climb. Some pitches of up to IVº+ on rock at the most and continuous climbs on always vertical terrain but with good holds in general lead us directly to the summit.
The descent is made by the same route as the ascent with some aerial rappels followed by numerous skills to the cable car station of the Aiguille de Midi.
Its climbing is not very difficult despite what one might think a priori seeing the place where it is located. A person accustomed to climbing mainly on rocky terrain and familiar with the roped progression techniques of this type of ascent will undoubtedly enjoy climbing this peak, surrounded by the most important granite spires of the Chamonix valley. This ascent can also be done to test ourselves before a larger climb such as the Matterhorn or Eiger.
