High Mountain
Guide

David Pérez Aranda
Passion for mountaineering.
My greatest achievement has been to make my sporting passion a way of life.
I was born in Guadix (Granada), there in the foothills of Sierra Nevada I was lucky enough to get my start in mountaineering. El Picón de Jerez was my childhood playground where I learned my first lessons from good friends.
At the age of 18 I left Granada to train as a mid-mountain guide in Benasque (Huesca). There I followed my lessons together with good Catalan, Aragonese and Basque mountaineers. Soon I began to dedicate myself professionally.
Pyrenees has been my favorite school during these years, I have traveled most of the most emblematic routes of the Catalan and Aragonese Pyrenees. Then the Alps and specifically the Mont Blanc massif, an area to which I have always felt deeply attracted, have given me an enormous growth.
During my training I have been doing expeditions in different places such as India, Nepal, Hokaido (Japan), Canada, USA, Peru, Algeria, Morocco… among others.
It was in La Pobla de Segur (Catalonia) in 2017 where I get the title of TD2 of High Mountain and the TD2 of alpine skiing. In the same year I was nominated for the piolet d’or for the ascent of a virgin mountain in the region of Kashmir in India.
In 2022 I obtained the diploma of TD3 High Mountain Guide UIAGM in the mountain school Kirolene in Durango (Basque Country), I have combined during these years my work as a mountain guide with that of trainer of future guides in official schools in Andalusia. Currently I spend the winter months in the Aran Valley and the summer months in Chamonix.
